Dyslexia
The brain recognizes words as shapes. As we read, our mind remembers the individual shapes it has been exposed to. The brain also works to recognize the sound(s) associated with each letter and how these sounds work together to produce individual words, such as ‘cat’ or ‘hat’. To understand Dyslexia, you must first understand the mechanics of reading. Reading takes place in three distinct processes in a student’s brain: visual memory, auditory processing, and directionality.
Our research shows a child diagnosed with dyslexia will have problems with one or more of these processes. When a student has a problem with one or more of these processes, they will require more exposure to learn a word. For example, a typical reader will remember a word after seeing the word 5-6 times. A child with dyslexia may need to see the word 45-50 before their brain recognizes it. Essentially, a child suffering from a reading disability will have to work twice as hard to gain only half of the results. In addition to reading difficulties, the processing difficulties that cause dyslexia can also cause one to have difficulty with understanding math concepts and directional terms. These difficulties can be frustrating, But there is hope.

Dyslexia Treatment
Physio-neuro Therapy (PNT) has been proven for over 30 years to help those with dyslexia overcome their reading disability and enjoy academic success. PNT has emerged as one of the best dyslexia treatment options, allowing individuals to triumph over their reading challenges and bask in academic accomplishments. Studies underscore that physio-neuro therapy can catapult reading skills of those with dyslexia by up to two grade levels.
Physio-Neuro Therapy (PNT) is designed to focus on strengthening the underlying weak processes causing the dyslexic symptoms. Through the use of step-by-step, neurological exercises, each weakness causing the dyslexic symptoms are addressed individually. As the plasticity of the brain is trained to overcome these weaknesses, the dyslexic symptoms begin to disappear.
